Summary

A piece of Neolithic polished flint axe was found at Corfe Mullen at an unknown date prior to 1948. It is believed to be one of the items in the H P Smith collection at Poole Museum.

Full Description

TNeolithic axe of siltstone, from Corfe Mullen, Dorset, now in the British Museum. <1>

No information was obtainable in the field, but it is probable that this axe is from the Durden Collection at the British Museum. That it is not from the Calkin Collection in the British Museum, was confirmed by Mr J B Calkin during field work. <2>
