Summary
A ditched kidney shaped hollow to the west of Drove Coppice, Lytchett Matravers, is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and on current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature is shown as an earthwork but not named on the OS 1st Edition map. It is considered likely to be a post medieval extractive pit and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

A ditched kidney shaped hollow to the west of Drove Coppice, Lytchett Matravers, is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1, 2]. The feature is shown as an earthwork but not named on the OS 1st Edition map. It is considered likely to be a post medieval extractive pit and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
