Full Description
Ditched curvilinear features in a field to the northeast of Castle Hill, Lytchett Matravers, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and on current lidar imagery [1, 2]. The feature meets with a historic trackway to the southwest, recorded on the OS 1st Edition map, and skirts the north side of a post medieval extractive pit. It is considered likely to also be a trackway, probably of post medieval origin. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
