Full Description
Ridged and ditched linear features within fields to the southwest of Lytchett Matravers, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs [1]. The features might be those of medieval ridge and furrow, although cultivation marks of a later origin are also possible. Curvilinear banked field boundaries of potential medieval origin bordering the western side of the features are also visible on a 1947 aerial photograph. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project. The cultivation ridges are no longer visible on available Google Earth imagery, the banke dfield boundaries are below tree cover.
