Please read our .

Summary

Several banked linear features within fields to the north of Almer, Sturminster Marshall, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs. The majority of features are of regular form and align with the historic field pattern. They are located close to and align with additional banked linears visible on current Environment Agency lidar imagery (MDO46764) but do not entirely correspond and are thought to possibly post-date these. They are considered likely to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
