Summary

A World War Two tank trap situated between the River Frome bridge and the river at Maiden Newton, near Dorchester. The trap comprises two anti-tank blocks constructed of conglomerate concrete cast by shuttering in 6ins wide horizontal bands. The blocks are 3 feet high and 42 inches square, the apex is 14inches high. The structures were built in 1940-41. A field visit in 1996 found the structures to be in a good condition.

2 anti-tank blocks constructed of conglomerate concrete cast by shuttering in 6ins wide horizontal bands: apex 14ins high, otherwise 3ft high, 42ins square. Two 6ins square x 3.5ins deep holes positioned on the N face of the blocks 13ins from the ground and 8ins in from each edge (13ins between each).Maiden Newton, nr. Dorchester, situated between the River Frome bridge and the river. <1-3>
