Full Description
A post medieval extractive pit to the north of West Morden, Morden, is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs [1]. The feature is recorded as a chalk pit on the OS 1st Edition pit and as an old chalk pit on an OS map dated 1955 [2, 3]. A smaller extractive map to the north is visible on current lidar imagery that appears to be an extension of the extractive area to the south [4]. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
