An oval hollow in a field to the north of Winterborne Zelston is visible as an earthwork on current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature is considered likely to be an old post medieval extractive pit, possibly a chalk pit, and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

An oval hollow in a field to the north of Winterborne Zelston is visible as an earthwork on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The feature is considered likely to be an old post medieval extractive pit, possibly a chalk pit, and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
