Summary

A possible Bronze Age bowl barrow to the north of Rail Clump, Morden, is visible as a very low and faint sub-circular banked earthwork on current Environment Agency Lidar imagery. The feature is potentially one of a loose row of probable Bronze Age barrows (NRHE Hob UID 1518301, 1518306, 1518308). A further barrow group (NRHE Hob UID 1518310) is located just over 500m to the east. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description

A possible Bronze Age bowl barrow to the north of Rail Clump, Morden, is visible as a sub-circular banked earthwork on current Environment Agency Lidar imagery [1]. The feature is visible as a very faint circular mound approximately 25 m in diameter. It is crossed by the medieval parish boundary between Sturminster Marshall and Morden. The feature is potentially one of a loose row of probable Bronze Age barrows (NRHE Hob UID 1518301, 1518306, 1518308). A further barrow group (NRHE Hob UID 1518310) is located just over 500m to the east. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
