Full Description
Areas of possible ridged and ditched cultivation within fields to the west of Newton Peveril, Sturminster Marshall, are visible as earthworks on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The features are faint but appear both narrow and broad and fairly regular in form. They only occupy part of the historic fields in which they are situated and may be ridge and furrow cultivation of medieval to post medieval date. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
