Banked curvilinear features in fields to the north of Mapperton, Sturminster Marshall, are visible as earthworks on current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are considered likely to be field boundaries of probable medieval origin, forming part of a medieval strip field system. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Banked curvilinear features in fields to the north of Mapperton, Sturminster Marshall, are visible as earthworks on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The features are considered likely to be field boundaries of probable medieval origin, forming part of a medieval strip field system. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
