Full Description
Two irregular hollows to the southwest of Mapperton, Sturminster Marshall, are visible as earthworks on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1].The features are located against the side of two historic fields and are considered likely to be post medieval chalk pits. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
