A probable post medieval extractive pit to the north of Almer, Sturminster Marshall, is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1, 2]. The feature is most likely a post medieval chalk pit and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
