Summary

A series of hollows are visible on lidar imagery to the south west of West Modern. They are considered likely to be post medieval chalk pits and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Full Description

A series of earthworks are visible on lidar imagery within Pound Wood, West Modern <1>. They are primarily banked features but extend to the south west of the wood for over 300m as a series of banks and hollows. The features may be of natural origin or may be the result of extraction; they were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
