Full Description
A large copse is marked on the OS 1st edition map <1> as Common Chalk Pit Wood at the east end of Morden Lane, Bloxworth. A large unanotated hollow is marked at the southern end of the wood on the OS 2nd edition map <2>. The feature is clearly visible on lidar imagery <3> and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project; it is considered to be the site of a post medieval chalk quarry.
