Full Description
A concentration of probable post medieval extractive pits at Newton Peveril, Sturminster Marshall, are visible as earthworks on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The features are most likely chalk or gravel pits - several are recorded as ponds on a 1955 OS map [2]. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
