Full Description
A post medieval gravel pit to the west of Newton Peveril Farm, Sturminster Marshall, is visible as an earthwork on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The feature is recorded as a gravel pit on the OS 1st Edition map [2]. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
A trackway leading east from the gravel pit towards Newton peveril Farm is also recorded on the OS 1st Edition map and is still visible on 2021 APGB imagery [3].
