Summary
Old Quarries are marked on the OS 1st edition map to the west of Chantell's Corner, Winterborne Zelston. They are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery along with several other smaller pits. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project and considered likely to be the result of post medieval chalk extraction.

Old Quarries are marked on the OS 1st edition map to the west of Chantell's Corner, Winterborne Zelston <1>. They are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery along with several other smaller pits <2>. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project and considered likely to be the result of post medieval chalk extraction.
