A possible post medieval extractive pit to the west of Garth Close, Sturminster Marshall, is visible as an earthwork on current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature is situated a short distance west of a historic quarry at Limekiln Coppice and might be an old chalk pit. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

A possible post medieval extractive pit to the west of Garth Close, Sturminster Marshall, is visible as an earthwork on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The feature is situated a short distance west of a historic quarry at Limekiln Coppice and might be an old chalk pit. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
