Summary

An Old Quarry is marked on the OS 1st edition map to the north of North Down Farm, Winterborne Kingston. It is visible as an irregular hollow over 100m across on lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project. The site is considered to be a post medieval chalk quarry and is associated with the lime kiln described in MDO5274.

An Old Quarry is marked on the OS 1st edition map to the north of North Down Farm, Winterborne Kingston <1>. It is visible as an irregular hollow over 100m across on lidar imagery <2> and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project. The site is considered to be a post medieval chalk quarry. The site is considered to be a post medieval chalk quarry and is associated with the lime kiln described in MDO5274.
