Full Description

According to Hutchins, this was once 'a hamlet which from the blackness seems to have been destroyed by fire'. RCHM II accepts it as a DMV site, distinguishes if from Lulworth St Andrews and places it in the S.W of the parish. The OS 6" 1902 shows the word "Gatemerston" written across several fields well to the East of St Andrews' Farm. <1>
