Monument record MDO46532 - Historic field boundaries/trackways, Charborough Park, Morden

Linear ditched and banked features to the east of Charborough House, Morden, are visible as earthworks on 1940's aerial photographs and current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are considered likely to be medieval to post medieval field boundaries and trackways, possibly part of a field system associated with Charborough medieval settlement. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Linear ditched and banked features to the east of Charborough House, Morden, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1-4]. The features comprise three or four parallel linear boundaries on a NE-SW alignment, two of these well defined linear ditches flanked by linear banks. Shorter perpendicular linear banks form a series of possible rectilinear enclosures. The features are considered likely to be medieval to post medieval field boundaries and trackways, possibly part of a field system associated with Charborough medieval settlement. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
