Summary

A brick floor and iron tools were found at a depth of around five feet during the laying of a drain in the Bell Street car park. These were interpreted as the remains of a blacksmith's shop which is known to have been in the area.

Full Description

'(ST 8622723082). During drain laying at the Bell Street car park a brick floor was located at a depth of 5 ft. Iron tools were found suggesting the presence of a Blacksmith's shop known from nineteenth-century sources.' (1)
