Summary

A number of very worn Roman bronze coins have been found by metal detecting in the vicinity, which are thought represent votive deposition, although the context of this is unknown. With the exception of a gold earring (also probably Roman) and two sherds of Samian Ware, no other artefacts have been found in the locality.

Whitfield Farm - metal detector finds; a list from Maynard Eastick:

A number of very worn Roman bronze coins have been found at 670922/3 which are thought to be votive. With the exception of a gold earring (probably Roman), no other artefacts have been found. Two sherds of Samian have been found in this area.

No pottery or ancient metal items were found on surrounding fields.
