Summary

A kiln shown on the 1st epoch 1:25 inch scale Ordnance Survey map (1888). A site visit in 1974 found the remains of a small updraught Suffolk-type kiln. The fieldworker noted that esate documents referred to brickmaking between 1881-93.

Full Description

Remains of a small updraught Suffolk-type kiln on land belonging to Moignes Court. Esate documents only refer to brickmaking between 1881-93. There are remains of a horse-driven pug mill in a clay pit, which lies to the south of the kiln. Recorded by NRIM. Sketched. <2>
