Summary

Around 1880 Robert Hayward found what was described as 'a great number of British Urns' while draining land at Wigbeth for Lord Shaftesbury. The urns are thought possibly to have been cinerary urns, the remains of a cremation cemetery. The exact location is not known.

A great number of British Urns found at Wigbeth near Haythorn by Robert Hayward when draining land for Lord Shaftesbury. Date about 1880. <1>

No information regarding these urns was obtained during recording or fieldwork. Authority in T.1. was not consulted. <1>
