Full Description
An Acheulian hand axe of "pear-shaped" form was found in a gravel pit at Little Canford. It was presented to Dorset County Museum by Mr.E.C. Chancellor (Acc. No. 1943.7.2). <1>
No further information was obtained locally regarding this find. The only major gravel pit in the area is situated at SZ 047995, and is probably the one referred to by authority 1. Mr Chancellor could not be traced. <2>
