Full Description
SU 0329 1079. Two short parallel linear ditches, of uncertain date and function, are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs and have been mapped by EH's Knowlton Circles Project. The ditches are 7.9m and 6.8m long, 9.2m apart. Their size and form, and their proximity to many small round barrows (SU 01 SW 190, SU 01 SW 200), suggests that they may represent a possible square barrow or structure of Prehistoric or Roman date. They also appear to be associated with possible Prehistoric or Roman linear trackways and boundaries (SU 01 SW 214). <1-2>
