A large hollow surrounded by a ring of spoil is visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery within Maggot Clump, Blandford St Mary. It is marked on the OS Master Map as a slurry pit but is considered likely to have originally been a post medieval chalk pit. It was digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
