Summary

Three hollows are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery in the field to the north of Hickson's Coppice, Spetisbury. They range in date from 16m to 23m across and are considered likely to be post medieval chalk pits. The western pit is surrounded by a ring of spoil. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Full Description

Three hollows are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery in the field to the north of Hickson's Coppice, Spetisbury <1>. They range in date from 16m to 23m across and are considered likely to be post medieval chalk pits. The western pit is surrounded by a ring of spoil. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
