Summary

Five hollows are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery in the field to the east of Field Dairy Farm, Spetisbury. They range in date from 12m to 42m across and are considered likely to be post medieval chalk pits. The largest, most eastern, pit is surrounded by a ring of spoil. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Full Description

Five hollows are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery in the field to the east of Field Dairy Farm, Spetisbury <1>. They range in date from 12m to 42m across and are considered likely to be post medieval chalk pits. The largest, most eastern, pit is surrounded by a ring of spoil. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
