Full Description
Four hollows are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery in a modern field to the south of Newfoundland Spetisbury <1>. They range in date from 20m to 58m across and are considered likely to be post medieval chalk pits. The two largest pits are surrounded by rings of spoil and one lies within a small copse that was also marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map. They are in the same field as MDO45901. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
