Summary

Sixteen small hollows are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery in fields to the north and east of The Down Buildings, in the north east corner of Winterborne Whitechurch. They range in size from 8m to 42m and are considered likely to be post medieval chalk pits. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Sixteen small hollows are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery <1> in fields to the north and east of The Down Buildings, in the north east corner of Winterborne Whitechurch. They range in size from 8m to 42m and are considered likely to be post medieval chalk pits. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
