Summary

World War II auxiliary unit operational base recorded on Deverel Down, near the bridle way and north of A354, north east of Milborne. The base had been constructed in 1940-41 and by 1949 had been considered to be in a dangerous condition and had been partly destroyed by the Army: the main hut had been partially filled but the secondary hut remained. The precise location and condition of the site is uncertain.

TDW/1162 (Ministry of Town and Country Planning reference). Cassini grid 41/10 NE 254198. Underground shelter considered for destruction as public danger, 1949. Partly destroyed by Army: in dangerous condition, main hut partially filled but secondary hut remains.Deverel Down, near bridle way and N of A354 road, NE of Milborne. <1>
