Full Description
The probable site of a post medieval chalk pit is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs <1> in a field to the southeast of The Down Buildings, Winterborne Whitechurch. It comprisies an elongated hollow 20m across with an outer ring of spoil and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
