Please read our .

Summary

Areas of ridged cultivation to the west of Broom's Close, Corfe Mullen, are visible as earthworks on a 1945 aerial photograph. The features appear to be laid out in linear strips within a larger historic field and may be those of ridge and furrow cultivation of possibly medieval date, although a later origin is also possible. A linear banked field boundary of probable contemporary date is also visible dividing two of the linear areas. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
