Summary

An area of ridged cultivation to the east of Hill Farm, Corfe Mullen, is visible as faint earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs. The features may be those of ridge and furrow cultivation of potentially medieval date, although a later origin is also possible. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description

An area of ridged cultivation to the east of Hill Farm, Corfe Mullen, is visible as faint earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs [1]. The features may be those of ridge and furrow cultivation of potentially medieval date, although a later origin is also possible. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project. They are no longer visible on 2021 APGB imagery.
