Summary

Curvilinear and linear banked features in fields to the west of Hill Farm, Corfe Mullen, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are considered likely to be historic field boundaries of potentially medieval to post medieval date. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description

Curvilinear and linear banked features in fields to the west of Hill Farm, Corfe Mullen, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1, 2]. The features do not feature on the OS historic mapping and are considered likely to be historic field boundaries of potentially medieval to post medieval date. The southernmost feature contains an area of possible medieval ridge and furrow cultivation to the south (MDO45927).

The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
