Full Description
An area of ridged cultivation marks to the southwest of Garth Close, Sturminster Marshall, are visible as faint earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs [1]. The features may be those of ridge and furrow cultivation of potentially medieval to post medieval date. A curvilinear banked and ditched feature containing the southeast side of the cultivation area maybe a field boundary of contemporary date. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project. They are no longer visible on Environment Agency lidar imagery.
