Summary

An Iron Age covered stone cist of two slabs containing a child burial accompanied by a probable Iron Age `A' food vessel was found at a depth of 3ft, about 120 yards south west of Gallows Gore Cottages in February 1934. Nothing else was found in the cist which was later destroyed.

A covered stone cist of two slabs containing a child burial accompanied by a probable Iron Age `A' food vessel was found at a depth of 3ft, about 120 yards south west of Gallows Gore Cottages in February 1934. Nothing else was found in the cist which was later destroyed. <1, 4>

The exact findspot of the burial was pointed out by Mr Lander and surveyed at SY 98237875. <2>
