The site of an Old Sand Pit is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map <1> in a field to the west of Higher Buildings, Spetisbury. It is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery <2> and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
