Summary

A copper alloy spear head of Bronze Age date, found in the 1950s close to the road verge on the higher Shaftesbury road near Pimperne. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water.

Full Description

Cast socketed bronze spearhead with a central rib along the length of the blade and two small oval attachment holes to either side forming the junction of the shaft and blade.

Found in the 1950s by Mr C Walbridge, close to the road verge on the higher Shaftesbury road near Pimperne. Original DHER card notes a latter from Norman Field dated 24/08/1978 giving details. On loan to DCM.
