Summary

The site of a Royal Observer Corps monitoring post. The site was built as part of an extensive network of posts designed to confirm and report hostile aircraft and nuclear attacks on the United Kingdom. The post was opened in February 1962 and was closed in September 1991. The post was found to be in a good condition at the time of the Defence of Britain survey. The site is located underground in a compound on the north side of an un-named minor road, Acton.

Full Description

The site of a Royal Observer Corps monitoring post. The site was built as a part of an extensive network of posts designed to confirm and report hostile aircraft and nuclear attacks on the United Kingdom. The post was found to be in a good condition at the time of the Defence of Britain survey. <1>
The post was opened in Feburary 1962 and was closed in September 1991. The site is located underground in a compound on the north side of an un-named minor road, Acton. <2>
