Summary

Two areas of ridged cultivation marks to the south of Henbury Manor, Sturminster Marshall, are visible as faint earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs. The features may be those of ridge and furrow cultivation of potentially medieval to post medieval date. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description

Two areas of ridged cultivation marks to the south of Henbury Manor, Sturminster Marshall, are visible as faint earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs [1]. The features may be those of ridge and furrow cultivation of potentially medieval to post medieval date. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.. They are no longer visible on 2021 APGB imagery.
