Monument record MDO45695 - Possible field system, Sixpenny Handley

Please read our .

Summary

A series of features possibly representing a field system were noted during work along the course of a gas pipeline. The features comprised a lynchet described as 4 metres in length (?width) and 0.5 metres deep, plus a series of ditches. Unfortunately, the published account does not include a site plan. No finds were retrieved, and the features are therefore effectively undated, although a later prehistoric or Roman date would be in keeping with other field systems in the area.
