Summary

Banked linear features are visible as earthworks to the west of St Leonard's Farm, Lytchett Minster, on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are aligned with the historic field patrtern and divide larger historic fields into narrow rectilinear plots. They are considered likely to be historic field boundaries of potentially medieval to post medieval origin. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description

Banked linear features are visible as earthworks to the west of St Leonard's Farm, Lytchett Minster, on 1940s aerial photographs [1]. The features are aligned with the historic field patrtern and divide larger historic fields into narrow rectilinear plots. They are considered likely to be historic field boundaries of potentially medieval to post medieval origin. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project. They are no longer visible on 2021 APGB imagery.
