Full Description
ST 95141351. A late 17th century cottage, of two storeys with rendered walls and a thatched roof. <1>
[NGD note 14-02-23: This building has not been conclusively identified. On the HER Map the coordinates come out on the west end of No 21 but that building is not a close physical description - being the west end of a barn of brick with a tile roof which is already otherwise already recorded as MDO13349 – although it may have a painted and partially rendered brick wing orientated N-S which may potentially represent an earlier part of the building(?). On the GQIS map the NRHE number come out slightly north of No 21. This MDO record has been situated based on the coordinates from the HER map. There does tend to be a small off set between the coordinates from the HER map and where the NRHE number appears on the QGIS map. The property to the immediate west (No 20) is also not a close match but the roof does look more modern so potentially a thatched roof may have been replaced with slate at some time since the RCHME listing was published(?). Unfortunately, the RCHME listing info is rather limited so ultimately no definitive conclusion was reached.]
