Full Description

Part of a possible Medieval or Post Medieval coppice boundary is visible as soilmarks on aerial photographs taken in 1982, once the overlying trees were removed. The site is centred at ST 9610 0844 and comprises two ditches that form an L-shape. The ditches measure 102m and 52m long and between 8m and 14m wide. The L-shape could be the south-western corner of an enclosure, perhaps defining part of a Medieval or Post Medieval coppice or plantation on Monkton common. <1>
