Summary

A partial sub-oval ring ditch is visible as a cropmark to the east of West Hemsworth, Witchampton, on a 2019 aerial photograph. The feature is located against the east side of a hedged field boundary and may be a Bronze Age round barrow. A Bronze Age barrow group is located within 200m to the southeast, recorded under NRHE Hob UID 1079977. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description

A partial sub-oval ring ditch of approximately 16m diameter is visible as a cropmark to the east of West Hemsworth, Witchampton, on a 2019 aerial photograph [1]. The feature is located against the east side of a hedged field boundary and may be a Bronze Age round barrow. A Bronze Age barrow group is located within 200m to the southeast, recorded under NRHE Hob UID 1079977. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
