Two probable post medieval chalk pits are visible as earthworks to the east side of Tarrant Rushton on a 1942 aerial photograph [1]. The features are located in an area that later became part of Tarrant Rushton Airfield. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
